𝐉Ʉ𝐉Ʉ ₦ł₲Ⱨ₮ ₴Ⱨł₣₮ invites you to the darker side of the dancefloor. This new series at Arkaoda will bring both upcoming and established names to conjure up a party. For this first edition you will be locked in by the eclectic and vibrating sounds of 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐲𝐥𝐨𝐮, the razorsharp sonics of 𝐋𝐚𝐳𝐞𝐫𝐆𝐚𝐳𝐞𝐫, the sensual deep listenings of 𝐋𝐮𝐜𝐲 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐤 and the mesmerizin gexperimentalism of Juju founder 𝐋𝐨𝐦𝐚 𝐃𝐨𝐨𝐦.
Bye bye, InDesign. Moving away from familiar tools and their all too narrow emotional constraints like guides and margins, thisposter was fully sketched and designed in Photoshop. It combines typographic treatments of handwriting, photocollage and a maltreated monospace font.

“I STARTED TO FIND ACCURATE WORDS TO DESCRIBE HOW I FELT ABOUT THE WORLD” was installed from Wednesday, 19.05.21 until Sunday, 23.05.21, and consisted of a live collaborative sound performance w/ KONGJAK @pgm_991 (“I AM ALREADY A CROWD ENMESHED IN OTHERS”) and a virtual live release-show of “THE VIOLENCE INHERENT IN THE SYSTEM”, a 6-Track EP by PLEASURE (https://erusaelp.bandcamp.com/album/the-violence-inherent-in-the-system), streamed through saturdaymatinee.werkplaatstypografie.org
For the period of these days, The BOX – located in the basement of the Werkplaats Typografie in Arnhem, NL – was used as a rehearsal room / recording and streaming studio / DIY live music venue. The technical set-up consisted of a hybrid drumset on a dedicated drum rug, a mixer with inputs for sample pads, microphones, audio sources, and the drum module, a stereo set of speakers, and two HD-webcams.
Live Performance; Hybrid Drumset, Microphones, Multi-Channel Mixer, Sample Pads, Stereo Speakers, Rug, Banner with Eyelets, Acoustic Foam, 2021
The announcement poster was printed on an A2 Riso printer in the basement of Werkplaats Typografie in Arnhem, NL.
Throwback to warmer days and these two instalments of a beautiful open air film program in the garden of @ideal_artspacecurated by @junedrevet.
With films by SKY HOPINKA, CANA BILIR-MEIER, ANNA SPANLANG, VIKA KIRCHENBAUER, LIZ JOHNSON ARTUR, BENJAMIN BUSCH & SADIA SHARMIN.
Offset-printed as a two-sided foldable leaflet with further information about the individual films on the back. The page numbers run consistently through all announcement flyers for the 2023 exhibitions at IDEAL artspace. The leaflets can be collected and combined to a small booklet.
Why do we archive ourselves, our families and communities? What do these archives embody, what do they do to us? And what significance do they have from a queer-feminist and intersectional perspective? On two film evenings, Kunstraum IDEAL will present filmic works by artists who are united by an investigation into the potentials and limitations of non-institutional photo archives.
Personal photographs of times past do not always tell of a wistful loss, but of knowledge that is shared, as imitation, reproduction and creation. Every collection of documents can become three-dimensional, a place, a house, through the filmic examination. The films look beyond the emotional significance of these archives and ask how such places can be organised, not least to give others access.
PHANTOM RADIO SATURDAY MATINEE 3PM ALL AGES is an open stage for parallel activities, a space-time as common moment based on shared and sharing experiences and the creation of temporary acts of love when bodies are not actually in close proximity. A total of 17 installments have been live-streamed on an irregular basis on Saturday afternoons at two separate (yet identical) locations – one channel for each location. Both channels play at the same time, for the duration of the particular stream.
The broad range of audio-based media offered a starting point for contributions relating to particular interests and research. The addition of a video source (a webcam capturing the scene, a stand-alone video work, etc.) is meant to exist in interaction and influence, allowing for attentiveness and interconnectivity.
A dialogue between both channels can be as cooperative or independent as the participants desire. Their combination reshaping personal practices into forms of radical openness. After all, it’s the gathering in multiplicities with whom to share in these events, with whom to share our lives, that brings us into contact with each other.
A website acts as a container, making it possible for listeners / viewers / audiences to control the audibility and visibility of the individual channels, while superimposing them on a sliding scale, creating endless variants of mixes.
PHANTOM RADIO SATURDAY MATINEE 3PM ALL AGES is a project initiated by @marcus_wachter with contributions by participants of Year 21 and Year 22 at @werkplaatstypografie as well as external contributors. Web development by @blaaaaaaam
